Company Branding

Branding begins with identifying your mission, ethos, and pillars – it’s not simply a color choice, it communicates your brand’s personality. People expect more as consumers, investors, and/or stakeholders, and excellent branding gives it to them. The market is saturated, so it’s imperative to have a brand that stands out.

Here's the Dive Brief
before you Take the Plunge

Company branding is more than just the product or service you provide: your brand tells a story that makes people want to support you. It encompasses your mission, vision, ethos, identity, voice, target audience, etc. It is a pretty tall order – but thankfully for you, Pink Fins delivers. We work with you to flesh out all of your ideas, ensuring that they stay in alignment with your vision and ethos. Then, we craft a strategy that identifies and cultivates your ideal audience – so that you’re no longer their white whale, you exist and they know just where to find you. Company branding, while including color palettes and typography, is a comprehensive package that highlights your uniqueness, while also building connections with your audience.

Why Pink Fins for Company Branding

Pink Fins Brand Management is a boutique brand firm, and we build brands that have to sell something, which is a different job from making a company look good. We start with your position, your buyer, and what you can honestly claim, then carry that through the name, the message, the visual system, and every place a customer meets you. Because we run the PR, the search, and the marketing afterward, we build brands that survive contact with the market instead of living in a PDF nobody opens.

Company Branding FAQ

What is company branding?

Company branding is the whole story your business tells, not just the logo. Mission, vision, ethos, identity, voice and audience, held together so they all say the same thing. The colour palette and typography are the last five percent of the job, not the first.

How is company branding different from personal branding?

Company branding builds the business as an entity. Personal branding builds the human standing in front of it. Founder-led companies usually need both, because buyers increasingly decide about the person before they decide about the product.

Do we need a rebrand, or just sharper positioning?

Usually the second. Most brands that feel stale do not have a design problem, they have a clarity problem. We will tell you which one you actually have, including if the answer is that you need neither.

How long does company branding take?

Discovery and positioning take a few weeks. Rolling that consistently through every channel takes longer, because consistency is the whole point and consistency is slow. You will have something usable well before you have everything.

What do we walk away with?

Your mission, ethos and pillars written down in language your team can repeat. An identity and voice that match them. And an audience strategy that says who those people are and where they actually are.

Can you work with our existing designer?

Yes. We handle strategy, positioning and voice. If you have design in-house or on retainer, we brief them properly rather than replacing them.
