Integrated marketing strategy

SEO and AEO Consulting

SEO for service businesses should do one thing: build authority you can measure in revenue. In practice it looks like this: Google ranks you, and when a buyer asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or Gemini who to hire, the answer is you. Search rankings, AI answers, and digital PR, run as one program which is measured on leads.

Why now

Search Has Changed. Your Buyers Already Know.

A green moray eel looking out from a reef

Your next client probably won't scroll through ten blue links to find you. Google's AI Overviews reach 2.5 billion people a month, and when an AI summary appears, a regular result gets clicked on just 8% of visits, against 15% without one (Pew Research, 2025). More and more, buyers just ask ChatGPT or Perplexity who's good and take the recommendation.

The industry invented a pile of acronyms for this. SEO ranks you. AEO pulls your content into direct answers. GEO garners AI assistants' recommendations. Lastly, AIO is the umbrella term for all of it. They're not four separate services, and there's no hidden trick behind pursuing any of them.

Brand mentions now predict AI visibility about three times better than backlinks do (Ahrefs, 75,000 brands studied). Getting recommended is brand work, and we're a brand management company. You can probably see where this is going.

Who This is For

SEO for service businesses works differently than SEO for publishers or ecommerce, because there is no catalogue to rank or volume to hide behind. It works best for firms selling to a definable buyer: commercial services, B2B providers, professional practices, and founder-led companies. Local, regional, or national, we build market-by-market either way. You should have a working website, a clear offer, and the patience to let authority compound, because it will compound.

Not a fit if: you need leads this week (that's a paid-ads conversation, and we run those too), if you want to outrank household names for one-word keywords by month two, or if you're shopping for the cheapest dashboard subscription with a human attached. We take a limited number of search clients so every account gets a dedicated consultant who knows your business.

How it runs

What Modern SEO for Service Businesses Looks Like

Forget the bag of keywords and the monthly PDF. Modern SEO is five working parts on one 90-day cadence, built for how buyers search now.

An underwater statue of a man in a knit cap on the sand
01

Technical foundation

First we fix what's blocking you: crawl errors, redirects, sitemaps, site speed, and schema markup. Then the most overlooked part: confirming AI crawlers can reach your site (we find blockers more often than you'd think), and that you're indexed in Bing, which feeds ChatGPT. If the engines can't see you, you're invisible at any depth.

02

Keyword and intent strategy

We map what your buyers actually type, separate the ones ready to hire from the ones just reading, and pick fights you can win. No bidding wars over head terms the giants own. No vanity keywords that bring traffic and zero buyers. Every target has to lead to revenue, or it's off the list.

03

Content that answers and converts

Buyer's guides, comparison pages, and landing pages with the answer up top, real numbers, and your name boldly conveyed. AI assistants quote and human buyers trust that format. One piece of content, directed at both audiences.

04

Digital PR and brand mentions

This is where authority is cultivated. AI assistants recommend businesses they keep seeing: in trade press, directories, expert commentary, as well as on the third-party pages they treat as ground truth. We earn those mentions and keep your presence consistent everywhere the engines look. Brand work and search work used to be different jobs, but now they're the same one. Both jobs fall under our purview.

05

Measurement that counts revenue

We track qualified leads first, AI recommendations for your money searches second, and rankings third. Our monthly reporting is tied to revenue, without padding or vanity metrics.

Path one

You run it

You keep the engine and the blueprint, and you or your team carry it forward. You own all of it either way, so this costs nothing further.

Path two

We run it

We keep running and optimizing the engine every month, for less than the program itself. Useful if you would rather spend your time on the work than on the upkeep.

From 16% to 49% share of voice on answer engines

Answer engines are the AI assistants people now ask instead of searching. Semrush tracks how often orangebag.co is named in their answers about commercial laundry — it went from 16 percent to 49.73 percent in two weeks.

Semrush grades the new site 100 out of 100

Semrush runs a website through more than a hundred automated checks. The rebuilt site passes every one. The average site in the top ten percent scores 92.

What it replaced

Almost nobody landed on a page that could sell them anything

97in 100

People who found OrangeBag on Google landed on a blog article.

3in 100

Landed somewhere they could ask for a price.

507→ 106

Pages before and after. Every service and market OrangeBag sells now has its own page.

What this means

The old site was mostly articles — many written for cities OrangeBag doesn’t serve, and a lot of them published two or three times over at different web addresses.

So when a hotel manager searched for commercial laundry, Google had five hundred pages to choose from and usually showed an article. The pages that could take a quote request were buried.

Source: Google Search Console, twelve months before launch.

The work

What changed

01

Every service got its own page. Someone searching for gym towel service used to find a blog post. Now there is a page for gym towels, one for hotel linen, one for spas — and each one can take a quote request. Three of the five leads came in through those pages.

02

The site stopped competing with itself. The same article existed at two or three web addresses, so Google had to choose between copies of OrangeBag and usually showed none of them well. Each topic has one page now, and the leftover copies are being redirected to it.

03

Each market page explains how that market is served. Los Angeles is OrangeBag’s own plant, and the other markets run from facilities closer to the client so turnaround stays short. Buyers want to know who handles their route before they ask for a price, and now the page answers it.

04

OrangeBag owns the site now. Moved off Squarespace onto WordPress with a separate build environment, so pages can be changed and tested without touching the live site.

Nineteen pages written and reviewed. Eleven defects found and fixed before anything went live.

The architecture

One page for every vertical they serve

Every market page is a market OrangeBag can run a route to. Nothing was built to catch a search OrangeBag cannot serve.

A luxury hotel suite with a made king bed

Hotel linen & towel

Scheduled routes, exclusive linen pools.

A bright fitness club floor with cardio and strength equipment

Gym & studio towel

High-rotation towel programs.

A spa treatment room prepared for a client

Spa & salon linen

Soft-touch finishing for robes and linens.

Eight service pages and eleven location pages.

What’s next

The rebuild is the floor, not the ceiling

Blog consolidation

Retiring the duplicated city-blog network into the new pages, harvesting what is worth keeping before each redirect.

Editorial program

Twenty-four posts across four clusters, each answering the question an operator asks before they are ready to buy.

Conversion tracking

Attributing every quote request to its landing page and query, so the next round is aimed by evidence.

Metro pages

Six metros have a page of their own. The region pages name a dozen more — Dallas, Austin, Orlando, Tampa, Northern Virginia — that do not.

Service by market

A buyer searching for hotel linen in San Francisco gets the hotel page or the San Francisco page, never one written for both. Those pages are worth building.

Residential service areas

Santa Monica, Long Beach and West Hollywood have pages on the residential side. The rest of the Los Angeles metro follows.

Next phase scoped and ready.

OrangeBag

Commercial laundry and linen service for hotels, gyms, spas, medical offices and short-term rentals.

SEO, AEO, and GEO Answered

What's the difference between SEO, AEO, GEO, and AIO?

SEO ranks you in traditional search results. AEO structures your content so engines can lift it into direct answers. GEO gets AI assistants like ChatGPT and Gemini to recommend you. AIO is the umbrella term for all of it. In practice it's one discipline with new weightings, which is why we run it as one program instead of four invoices.

Why hire a brand management company for SEO instead of an SEO agency?

A brand management company wins at AI-era SEO because the strongest known driver of AI visibility is brand mentions across the web, about three times stronger than backlinks. Earning mentions is brand work. A typical SEO agency optimizes your pages and stops there. We optimize the pages and run the digital PR that makes engines recommend you by name.

Do I still need SEO if buyers just ask AI now?

Yes, you still need SEO when buyers ask AI. Assistants decide who to recommend based on what's indexed, quotable, and mentioned across the web. Google's AI pulls from Google's index, and ChatGPT leans on Bing's. If classic SEO ignores you, AI inherits the blind spot. Early industry data also suggests the buyers who click through from AI answers convert at several times the rate of regular search traffic.

How long until results?

Technical fixes show in weeks. New pages typically start ranking inside 90 days for the focused keywords we target first. Durable page-one positions and consistent AI recommendations take 6 to 12 months. Anyone promising faster is guessing with your money.

Does this work for national companies or just local ones?

Both. National service businesses win the same way local ones do, market by market: dedicated pages per metro, content per vertical, and a Google Business Profile per location, all feeding one domain's authority. Our flagship search client runs in eight metros coast to coast.

Who actually does the work?

A dedicated Pink Fins consultant, end to end: strategy, content, digital PR, reporting. No junior pod, no ticket queue, no mystery.
